Beecroft: March 2014
Project Partners:
Bellwood Kitchens (joinery)
Chris Hardy (lighting)
The brief for the Beecroft residence was to design and project manage a joinery package that was timeless, accessible and to suit a family of six.
The project was a complete new build. Because of this we were able to focus on a holistic concept that encompassed the entire residence. The focus of the concept was a timeless aesthetic that had to meld with the architectural elements of the building. This was made difficult due to the limited budget, however it is a core value of Bellwood that small budget shouldn’t affect the quality of the design or its function. Manufacture was completed in collaboration with local manufacturer Bellwood Kitchens.
The combined kitchen / dining space is the feature of the home, the light filled, open plan space encourages conversation between family members.
Finishes support the timeless concept, trend is added through accessories in non fixed areas. Due to the high ceilings a subtle lighting feature was required to soften and zone the space, these white porcelain lights were hand made by local designer Chris Hardy.
Bellwood Kitchens installed and scribed all joinery for the kitchen prior to uninstalling and finishing. This ensures the perfect, custom fit, encompassed within the high ceilings and white walls, the cupboards lengthening to the ceiling support storage and a seamless design.
